2. "Teach a man how to fish..."

3. "If you don't work, you don't eat."

Hi Luke,

Is this inspired by that Republican woman on the Colbert Report? I must say i couldn't remember Jesus saying anything about "teach a man how to fish" (unless he had a side-job as a Chinese philosopher).

It was kind of like "Hmm, i need something to supports my party's (not-so-Jesus-like) stance. Ooh, here's a phrase that has teaching and fish. If i say it quickly enough it will sound biblical-ish."

"The average viewer won't know Jesus never said any such thing - especially if i wear a distractingly ostentatious cross on my necklace."

Oh, and my entry is 1 and 4. Number 3 is of biblical origin - but not said by Jesus.

#1, 3, and 4 are the words of Jesus, since He is the Word and everything in the Bible comes from Him. #2 is just an old wise proverb.
